10 years Datacenter ColoBâle - Review of our anniversary!
For more than ten years, we have been at your side here at Datacenter ColoBâle as experts for technically modern IT systems. To this day, we therefore have positive memories of our 10th anniversary and the good mood among our partners, customers and employees on site. With our video of the celebration on this very special day, we were able to capture the mood excellently. Why the 10th anniversary was so special for us
However, not only the occasion itself, but also the implementation of the anniversary was even better than expected for our modern data center. For example, extensive catering with food and drinks was provided on site, which created an excellent atmosphere for many stimulating conversations. In this way, our anniversary here at ColoBâle was clearly more than just a simple celebration. As a local data center from northwestern Switzerland, we were able to really show what atmosphere means to us.
Unlimited possibilities directly on the Magnet areal
As a surface and location for our anniversary celebration we had the gigantic Magnet area at our disposal. This is characterized by sufficient space for all interested parties and their families, which allowed us to organize a celebration on a large scale. The hall of the former Schindler Waggon AG is characterized by its central location in Basel, while at the same time it makes a modern and well-kept impression. On a total of 18,000 square meters, there were many options to celebrate the anniversary of our data center ColoBâle in a worthy manner and to plan a variety of attractions. So the detailed preparations more than paid off on the day of our anniversary.
Many attractions and details during the event
With such a large area, it was of course clear that talking alone was far from enough to create the best atmosphere. Therefore, we planned a variety of small attractions to fully satisfy our guests of all ages. One of the highlights of the event was the skill course we had specially set up, which had to be mastered with a forklift truck. The three fastest and thus the winners received a voucher for the casino in Basel. And of course not only for the roulette table, but with instruction and a look behind the scenes.
In order to accurately reproduce the playful atmosphere from the casino during our anniversary here at ColoBâle, there was also blackjack and roulette on site. The games were operated and accompanied by professional groupies, so it was certainly never boring. During the celebration, it was possible to try one's luck at the roulette table in the Retro Game Launch, accompanied by atmospheric DJ music. Music requests were of course warmly and explicitly desired.

Since the 10th anniversary was to be a very special experience for us as a data center, of course no one could be missing. We therefore made it our business to create an exciting and outstanding environment for young and old on the large Magnet site. The invited guests included not only customers, potential customers and new partners, but also all employees and suppliers. So we could all celebrate together.
But of course, it is not only the long existence that offers reason for celebration and joy at this point. The view of the future and the increasing relevance of the industry also offers reason for joy. For new cooperations and networks, we were therefore able to make excellent use of the celebration to exchange ideas with new customers and partners. And all of this, of course, in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Culinary fascination for all guests present
In addition to the already good atmosphere, there was also just the right mix for the catering. Thus, we have rented several Street Foot Trucks for our anniversary as a data center, which could offer burgers, but also tarte flambée. Street Coffee vehicles with coffee and many delicious sweets were also waiting on the premises during the celebration. So there was just the right alternative for really every taste to enjoy the celebration properly.
Also indispensable and therefore represented at a high level was of course a bar operation. This was able to provide the most diverse cocktails, both with alcohol and in alcohol-free variants. In addition to the classic drinks, there were of course also perfect solutions for special wishes. Thus, it was possible to benefit even from culinary highlights on the food and beverage menu.
What will make us so special as a data center in the future as well
With our 10th anniversary, we have ushered in an excellent future as a data center and computing center for the region of northwestern Switzerland. This is also the view of our Managing Director, who in recent years has been able to help ColoBâle AG position itself for secure and sustainable IT in many industries. In times of further digitalization, we are therefore a safe partner to rely on a comfortable solution in the future.
One of our very special advantages at this point is the over 2,000 square meter data center. Located directly in Pratteln, close to Basel, our data center is one of the largest sites in the whole of northwestern Switzerland. For informatics infrastructures, this creates enormous security to ensure failure-free and holistic operation at all times. Access control, video surveillance and an active power supply remain guaranteed.
Our performance advantage? The Computer Museum of Basel
If you are also interested in the small and historical advantages, our Computer Museum of Basel is an exciting option. Directly in our museum we also exhibit sometimes the older IT infrastructure, which many of us only know from movies and television. So you can have a closer look at the development of technological progress from about 50 years of history. To this day, our exhibits are always fully operational.
Around our diverse computer museum, we therefore offer much more than other data centers in Switzerland. We want to support you in being part of the development and history of new and modern IT solutions.
