The ColoBâle data centre not only houses state-of -the-art IT-infrastructure of various companies, but also a piece of informatics history: the Computer Museum of both Basel CMbB.
How did these two opposites come together ?
First and foremost through two people: Gerald Süss, then high school teacher of physics and computer science and today's director of the museum, and Stefan Mayer, former student of Süss and today's managing director of ColoBâle AG.
The museum displays exhibits from the beginnings of the computer age: hardware and software of the last 40 years; the big spectrum of rapid technological progress. All exhibits are of course ready for use.
